Dr. Shaw grew up in Nebraska, where, early on in life, she developed a love for animals. Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Shaw worked as a volunteer and later as an intern at a wildlife sanctuary working with domestic and native species.
During veterinary school, Dr. Shaw worked in the Internal Medicine department and was the primary author of an article that explored the relationship of heart based tumors in English Bulldog siblings.
In 2010, Dr. Shaw moved from Cooper City, Florida to Wisconsin to join the team at FVARC and GBAEC and to be closer to her husbandís family in the Neenah area. Dr. Shaw enjoys working at the referral center where the doctors all work together as a team and where many opportunities exist to learn from the specialists and work with talented technicians.
Dr. Shaw is currently involved at a local veterinary technician program as an adjunct instructor of animal physiology and anatomy. In her free time, Dr.Shaw enjoys running, cycling, skiing and painting. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, Aaron, as well as their black lab mix, Sammie, their 3-legged dog, Dora, their blind cat, Rae and their two other cats, Minnie and Lola.
